2 Don’t skip meals
Rather than skipping meals during the day and ‘saving up’ for a big binge meal at an event that night , you should eat small, frequent, healthy meals and snacks as normal during the day to help keep your blood sugar and energy levels even and help you make better choices.
2 Eat before you go out!
If you eat something small and healthy before-hand (like a piece of fruit or boiled egg) , you’re less likely to overindulge at your holiday parties, rather than showing up ravenous and eating everything in sight
3 Fill up on salads and veggies
If you have a variety of dishes to choose from, try to make at least half your plate salad and veggies . These choices contain very few calories and sugar, but have all the good stuff you need to fill you up.
4 Sit further away from the food
If you’re at a party where the food is on a table, sit/stand further away from the food, it makes it harder to get up and get seconds/thirds, and also helps prevent you continuing to pick at the food just because it’s there.

7 Get outside
Make the holidays a family affair and plan outdoor activities where everyone is involved. Go for a walk to look at the lights on the houses, a game of cricket, walk the dog, go for a paddle board will get everyone moving and burning off all that excess energy
8 Enjoy Yourself
Don’t punish yourself by completely cutting out your favourite foods/drinks. It is Christmas after all, it’s a time to celebrate and enjoy yourself, just remember that EVERYTHING is fine, as long as it’s done in moderation.
