I don't have to be fit to start Crossfit

Alright let’s clear this up straight off the bat - you don't have to be fit to start CrossFit!

I can hand on my heart tell you that heading to the gym, bootcamp or any similar form of exercise won’t get you any fitter than doing CrossFit.

CrossFit is designed for everyone from beginners who have had little to no fitness, to those who are very active and wanting to challenge themselves or try something different. CrossFit is so successful because it can cater to all fitness levels, its programming is unique in the way it can be scaled and the programs can be completed by anyone willing to give it a go.

What to expect at your first class?

In your first intro session to CrossFit we introduce you to a range of key movements that you may already be familiar with like the squat, push up, sit-up, box jump, step up and kettle-bell swing. We run you through these movements to ensure correct technique prior to moving you into mainstream classes. At the end of your intro session you will get to do a short workout (WOD) and get your heart rate moving. 

CrossFit is so scalable, its completely up to you how hard you want to push yourself and this will most likely depend on your existing fitness level. You will see yourself improve week by week, increasing your scores, completing a new movement and becoming a fitter, healthier and stronger version of you.

You will be supported by these people every time you turn up for a work out. You will have more energy than ever before and your friends will be asking you – what is your secret? Crossfit is different to all other styles of working out – you turn up and the hard work is done for you!  Your programming is done for you, you have a trainer or two waiting for you to arrive each day and all you have to do is turn up and give it your best. When you complete a workout you will feel a sense of accomplishment you can’t explain. Your first pull up, your first box jump, your first muscle up, your first snatch or maybe a 1600m run unbroken. Along with all of these things and healthy eating you will see your body get fitter, faster, stronger and leaner.

CrossFit continues to grow as more people find out about it. Last year at this time, there were just over 11,000 Crossfit boxes,  this year CrossFit has reached 13,000 boxes worldwide. CrossFit must be doing something right!
