Hey guys, I'm Wendi. And I’m in shock. Thanks for the nomination coaches.
I moved to sunny Oz 7 years ago from Wales.
I love sharing the adventure of life with my husband Peter & love being a mum to my son, Osian who’s 8.
I work as a pharmacist, full-time at the local hospital.
I started my fitness journey 3 years ago.
Exercise has never really been a part of my daily life until I realised 3 years ago that I needed to make a positive change towards a healthier and active lifestyle
So in 3 years, I’ve gone from can’t run 100m nor do a single burpee to loving Crossfit.
I train 5 morning a week and being active is now my lifestyle choice.
I much prefer to go and hike up a mountain rather than having a sleep in on the weekend.
I also love sharing my health and wellness journey with lots of food blogs and healthy recipes on my Facebook page with the goal of inspiring others and helping others towards living a healthy and active lifestyle.
What did you do fitness wise before crossfit?
I started with bootcamps and running then changed to the gym and weights.
Why crossfit?
I was bored of the traditional weights and I learnt from a friend that crossfit wasn’t about working out until you vomited…. So, I decided to give it a try. I was looking for more variety and to workout with a group, with the goal of improving my cardio fitness, strength and to be able to move freely.
I started crossfit in February and moved to the area in May.
One of the first things I did was, find a new box.
Monday, I started my new job and I completed my first wod on Tuesday and I haven’t looked back. Thanks for the energised welcome CFMB!
I love crossfit at CFMB as it’s a great mix of strength training, gymnastics and hiit with a great bunch of people who are always supportive and encouraging.
Someone always knows when you need a cheer!
The coaches are always working with you to achieve your goals and are always ‘watching’ – making sure we’re working hard but also safely.
The variety of the workouts keeps my mind active too.
It sure is a challenge to remember, how to do the movement (I’m still a learner!), try to breathe and count too ☺
What results have you seen while at CFMB?
I have lost cms, with a gain in strength and muscle.
I now have some curves!!Yay!!
An increase in confidence of my self-belief which meant I had belief to compete in the CFMB in-house comp
Favourite exercise?
Power Clean
Least favourite?
Thrusters
Favourite food?
Homemade roasted almond butter
Who or what inspires you?
My motivation to get out of bed in the morning and train 5 days a week is to be a fun, mum and to have the energy and health to run around, hang on the monkey bars in the park and play football with Osian.
