SHIN SPLINTS
Shin pain is not a minor issue.
Sure it can seem like an annoying pain you can just keep running or box jumping through, but it needs to be managed.
GUESS WHAT MANAGES SHIN PAIN?? REST, ICE, COMPRESSION & ELEVATION.
If your feeling sore and inflamed it is recommended to get a frozen water bottle and gently roll the effected area like an ice massage.
You should consider swapping a road run for a ride, row or swim and definitely consider changing your shoes.
If its not getting any better you need to see a doctor or sports physiotherapist as shin splints can progress to tibial fractures as the tissue swells and tears off the bone.
